In many cultures the meaning of the evil eye and its symbolism is the same. In Greek culture we refer to it as the ‘mati’ and it is believed that if someone is envious of you or wishing negatively toward you, you may receive mati from them. To be protected against the mati, a evil eye pendant or jewellery is worn to protect the wearer against receiving the evil eye, psychic attacks, envy, jealousy and any other negative energy from coming their way.
